FRANCESCO OLIVIERO

Francesco Oliviero, class of ’67, begins to show interest toward music at a very young age. His parents, owners of a historical musical instrument activity in Caserta, induce him to nurture a passion which becomes his “drug”, once he has grown - up.

Disciple of Maestro Aladino Di Martino, one of the most illustrious Directors of Conservatory and a university professor, attending the course “Armonia e Composizione”, Francesco matches his strong Catholic faith, which brings him to pay musical homage to Saint Pio and to His Holiness John Paul II on their departures, with his growing desire to “discover” and to “extract” the secrets of music.

His faith is profoundly influenced by his Maestro, who is very close to the Friar from Pietrelcina, whose “works” are, nowadays, everybody’s heritage.

Francesco enjoys facing, featuring duets and increasing with various artists – of national and international fame – then,  specializing in what will be his real vocation: to be an arranger and a composer.

His vocation is gradually fulfilled in the phonographic recording studio, “La Mediterranea”, which represents his “good training for life”, and which enables him to found “Meridiosound”, the first of a long series of professional recording studios  through which Francesco will further improve his technique, which brilliantly combines multi-media technology with the seven musical notes. “The virtual orchestra”, that is an orchestra (instruments and sounds) virtually reproduced through sophisticated computers in the “Formis Recording Studio”, is Francesco’s art -music specialization set piece, which pushes him into a dimension that overcomes national boundaries.

During his growing way and professional achievement, Francesco has the pleasure of collaborating with various artists; among the most significant are the ones with Ivan Cattaneo and Bobby Solo.

In 1983 he scores the sound-track to the film, “Sì, ma vogliamo un maschio”, directed by Giuliano Biagetti for Mediaset edition. In the same year, Francesco collaborates in composing music for the spots of “Il bagaglino usa e getta” and “Nescafé” with Nestlè group.

In 1994, he starts his collaboration with the author Pasquale Ziccardi; among the most appreciable pieces are “Quando eravamo piccini”, winner of Recanati Festival, and “ Dint’o viento”, in Mina’s record piece “Olio”.

From 1996 to 1998, Francesco shares the wonderful adventure of the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare, a Neapolitan Historical Group formed by Maestro De Simone; he will collaborate with them both as a musician, on the “Tzigari” tour, and as an accordionist, in the “Pesce d’o mare” cd, performed at Sanremo in ’98, with Angelo Branduardi as an exceptional guest.

Between 1998 and the Jubilee Year Francesco performs at different and prestigious theatres such as The Nazionale in Milan, the Sistina in Roma, and participates at various festivals, such as Ravenna Festival, directed by Riccardo Muti.

2001 marks a turning point in Francesco’s training and artistic maturation. During the Leuciana Festival he is called by the Israelite singer Noa to accompany her in her extraordinary show, very appreciated by the critics. And it is just on that occasion that Francesco gives a taste of his firm search for multimedia applied to music.

Even in the same year, he performs with the guitarist Gil Dor (known as Pat Metheny’s favourite disciple) and participates as a guest in the international group led by the drummer Domum Romao at Summonte International Festival.

During the same period, he accompanies on the piano the international Amal Markus and his band in the marvellous setting of the Augusteo theatre.

In 2002 he is on tour with Enzo Avitabile, a historical saxophonist and composer, considered by the critics “one of the genius of Soul

Music”.

The publication of the cd entitled “Un viaggio nel mondo delle colonne sonore”   is dated 2004; the cd is, officially, presented in July during the “Quattro notti e più di luna piena” kermesse, in Benevento, in collaboration with Iside Nova Association, whose president is Sandra Lonardo Mastella.

In 2005 he signs as artistic director the format tv “Stella per una notte”; format launched by Lunaset network tv in collaboration with Airc (the Italian Association for Cancer Research).

Always in 2005 he takes part in the television broadcast  “Al tuo posto”, invited by Paola Perego, on Raidue.

In 2006 he presents his last work, entitled “Una vita di musica … la musica per la vita”, with the homage to the late Pope John Paul II.

In 2007 Italiamiagroup, a network tv present in eleven Italian provinces, offers him the musical corner of the successful tv format entitled “Dicono di lei”, anchored by the professional  journalist Emilio Di Cioccio, nowadays Lunaset.it director, winner of the journalistic award “Città di Santa Maria Capua Vetere”.

Between 2009 and 2010 he is one of the jurymen for “Miss Italia Campania” format tv which sees the partnership between Lunaset  network tv and Miss Italia historical brand.

Nowadays Francesco signs the news and spot signature tunes for Lunaset group

( Naples tvluna, Caserta tvluna, Avellino Telenostra, Beneventotv, Lunasat, sky Lunasat).
